I was bit by the travel bug at a very young age. Daughter of an airline pilot, I was blessed with opportunities to travel before I could see over the airline counter. In addition to many jet-setter trips, I spent my childhood exploring the US in our 15 passenger van. My family has a strong love for the outdoors and we spent many summers camping, kayaking, hiking in the national parks.
By the age of 17, I was going on solo trips to Europe. I just couldn’t get enough of the thrill of discovering new places, meeting all types of people and broadening my ever-expanding horizons. Travel is not just a passion, but a life style for me. It is a way of getting to know the world that can only be done by first-hand experience. I have learned to value the differences in others, not to fear the unknown, and to be confident and graceful in new surroundings. Once you start to look at the world in this way you stop thinking of yourself as a foreigner and start to see yourself for what you are; a citizen of the world. It becomes YOUR world, and you see then that no matter where you are, you are always “home”.
